Valentines Day Episodes

Hey guy’s! Today is Valentines Day (or the day after for some) so I decided to post the names of all of the Valentine’s Day episodes. I will be commenting which ones are my favorites as I write their names down as they come to mind.

Love is in the Air part 1 and 2:

I truly like part two more than part one. This is the first episode I think about when I think about Valentine’s day. (Someone remind me to do a review about these two episodes please.)

Prequels of Love:

Yes, yes, and yes! What is there not to like about this episode? It has Bernard and Bart, an amazing combination of characters for an episode. Also, I love how Bart wants to send them to the attic instead of the basement. “Don’t touch my pork rinds!”

First Love:

Connie and Jeff. Yes please! (Comment if Connie and Jeff are better than Connie and Jason.) I always hope that Jeff will appear in future episodes.

Mum’s the Word

I have always felt like this episode is charming, but I honestly have only listened to it about two times- unlike the other episodes I have named. I think I like the Present Long Ago is slightly better. (Is the Present Long Ago a Valentine’s Day episode? I guess you can say it kinda is because we find out Mandy married Trent.)

Now before I go further, I have a confenssion to make. These episodes I will now name I have a very- gasp -vague memory of. And I probably will go listen to them after I write this post. I am also now using the aiowiki for the names…

2022 Plans for my Blog

2021 was a good year, but I wasn’t very active in my blogs, youtube channel’s, or my pinterest. So this year I have decided to try being active. Remember I said try.

This year I will continue the collages, the Odyssey OWL (if I can find more people…), and I’m going to try convincing my sister that this year is the year to do a podcast. Because I’ve been trying to do that for a very long time.

My main thing I’ll probably be doing on this blog are the collages. But it’s actually hard to find the pictures I have in my head so I may take some of them…

Any ways, I hope you have a great New Year and remember that I’m not only here to wash windows and get handcuffed.

ODYSSEY OWL (interview with Jay Smouse)

Merry Christmas everyone! Welcome to the Odyssey Owl! Sorry I am posting late. I got busy.

Today I am interviewing JaySmouse from Adventures in Opinions.

Here’s question one:
When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

I started listening to AIO when I was about 5 or 6 years old. I borrowed an AIO VHS from the church library and it had a bonus feature on it, which was the episode The Mortal Coil, if I remember correctly.

Oh, that’s cool! What made you want to have a blog?

I was inspired by past blogs like Welcome to Odyssey and by AIO Audio News . I wanted to have a place where I could share my own opinions, so I started Adventures in Opinions.

Have you ever had a crush on a character or actor from AIO?

No.

Well that was short, but to the point.

What’s your favorite episode(s)?

My favourite episode is The Time Has Come from Album 25: Darkness Before Dawn

That’s a great episode.

If you could change something from AIO what would you change? And what do you want for the future of Odyssey?

I would probably change the last few episodes of the Rydell saga. For the future of Odyssey it would be nice if they would introduce a small side character acted by me! I’ve always wanted to be in an episode.

Ah, funny you would say that because my next question was:
If you could make a character, how would it be?

Hmm…I think it would be interesting to have a child of Dr. Blackgaard or a sibling of him and Edwin.

That would be awesome! What villain would you like to see come back?

Regis Blackgaard.

Here’s the last question, What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

I think that what I would like to see more from AIO would be more episodes. We’re approaching the 100th Club episode, and I think that would be a good place to stop doing club-exclusive episodes. Then they could instead release more mainstream episodes which can actually affect characters. As I joked about in my initial review of (and reaction to) Make Snow Mistake, we knew that nothing bad could actually happen to Jules simply because it was a Club episode. ODYSSEY OWL (interview with Allie Barrett)

Shalom guys! As you can see, I started off today’s interview with a Richard Maxwell quote, which can mean one thing. Today I’m interviewing Allie Barrett!

As I’m sure most of y’all know, Allie was Michael LaFaver’s co-host in the The AIOWiki Podcast. She is also one of the biggest Richard Maxwell fan’s I know about.

I’ve been wanting to do this interview with her for a long time, so without further ado, here is my interview with Allie Barrett.

When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

The first time I ever heard an odyssey episode, I was eight…maybe? I don’t have great memory. But the first time I genuinely listened to Odyssey and cared about it was when I was 12, and I listened through Darkness Before Dawn.

I’m sure I know your answer for this question, but here it goes: Have you ever had a crush on a character or actor from AIO

Haha, I’ve had an ongoing (what, six years at this point?) crush on Richard Maxwell, no surprise there. I think at this point it’s a mix between I have a crush on him and I wanna be him. Who knows!

Oh yeah, and I also had a much-less significant crush on Jason when I was younger lol

Ooo for reals though, Richard is AMAZING

What’s your favorite episode(s)?

Another Chance, partly because it was the first episode I ever truly listened to, and partly because of Richard. The Mortal Coil, A Sacrificial Escape, The Black Veil, and the Top Floor were all killer episodes though.

I had to really think about that one lol

Lol, those are on my top 20.

If you could change something from AIO, what would you change? And what do you want for the future of Odyssey?

Oh goodness, I think I would keep some characters around. There was so much that could have been done with these characters, like Richard, Monica Stone, Jellyfish, it feels like a missed opportunity. I would give them all better endings or at least some closure. As for the future of Odyssey, ooohh my. There’s a lot of power in that question. I would want to maybe see some of these older characters come back, like possibly have the kid characters of old odyssey come back as adults with their own families! It would be nice to have some new families mixed in with ones from the past. I want AIO to give Eugene a proper send off, with the passing of Will Ryan, I don’t want them to replace Eugene or send him off on a mission trip. I pray they give us solid closure to his character.

What villain would you want to come back?

PHILIP GLOSSMAN, THAT RAT OF A MAN Hands down, the best worst villain in Odyssey.

He was one of the best worst villains for sure.

What do you think about the CEMS team from the episode The Team?

The epitome of bad ideas. Horrid. Loathsome. They didn’t even ask for cONSENT on Emily’s part, manipulative, gaslighting, EW.

The team would have been fine if it hadn’t have been them pressuring Emily into being a part of it and acting like nothing bad ever happened.

So very true.

Here’s the last question: What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

I would love to see more drama. I want another big saga like Novacom or Blackgaard, not particularly like the Rydell saga. I would love to see them continue to tackle hard topics, like depression, trauma response, and even gaslighting, but just tackle it in a healthy way.

That would be the most of it lol

I agree they need better sagas, not like the Rydell saga.

I would say to your readers, 1: BE NICE TO REBELDE, show her love because she’s amazing. 2: y’all need to make some more fanfiction and fan art, please we need some more fan content in this community. 3: don’t be mean to people and show love no matter what. And 4: Richard Maxwell (after his redemption) will forever be the best character of Odyssey. I am taking no constructive criticism

ODYSSEY OWL (Interview with John Tuttle III)

Hey, I’m John Tuttle III. I’m a big fan of Adventures in Odyssey and I am fairly active in the fan community. I have guest hosted on Adventures into Odyssey , AIO Audio News and over the summer, Jay Smouse of Adventures in Opinions asked me to be his cohost on his new podcast. Additionally, I do some writing on The Stilleto’s blog AIO Writer’s Block . The post are mostly either criticism of Jillian Marshall or satire articles about Adventures in Odyssey. Mel asked to interview me for her blog, and I’m not sure how interesting this will be, but here I am.

Hey guys! As you can see, I’m interviewing John Tuttle III. So, let’s get into it!

When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t listening to Odyssey. So close to all of my life, though I became a bigger fan back in around 2015 when my grandparents gifted my siblings and me the AIO Club.

What made you want to write on a blog?

Probably just my dislike for Jillian.

Haha, good point.

Have you ever had a crush on a character or actor from AIO?

I liked Mandy Straussberg when I was younger.

What’s your favorite episode(s) ?

I can’t pick just one episode. The entirety of the Novacom Saga is my favorite series on Adventures in Odyssey. The music, the action, the great storyline, it’s so good!

I completely agree with you. The Novacom saga is one of the best series.

If you could change something from AIO what would you change? And what do you want for the future of Odyssey?

Delete Jillian. Send away the Rydells. Those are my top 2. For the future of Odyssey, I would like to see Eugene have a fitting send off that is way better than Tom’s in Let’s Put on a Show. I would also like to see strong characters and good, interesting storylines.

Someone else I had interviewed had said that she would like to see Whit ‘s character better, since the writing has changed so much.
What’s your opinion on this?

I agree. I think Whit was severely lacking in his leadership role during the Rydell episodes.

Agreed.

What is your favorite and most hated aio characters?

My favorite characters are Eugene, Bernard, and Mitch. Eugene because he is intelligent and funny. Bernard because of his hilarious one-liners and wisdom, and Mitch because, well, he’s Mitch. My least favorite characters are Jillian and Morrie. Jillian because she is annoyed and immature, and Morrie because he is manipulative and evil.

What villain would you like to see come back?

I would love to see a storyline involving the Chairman due to his ominous exit in (coincidentally enough) the episode Exit. I think they could do some really cool stuff bringing back Novacom in this Era, however I doubt they will since it’s been almost 20 years since the end of Novacom.

I think most of us aio fans would love to see that happen.

Here’s the last question, What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

I would like to see more episode like Unrelatable that have good writing, good characters, and an interesting storyline. I also really enjoyed the Olivia faith arc and would like more episodes like those. Lastly, I am looking forward to hear the episodes that were already recorded with Will Ryan before he passed away in November.

If anyone knows Seth Dillon, Kyle Mann, or Ethan Nicolle, tell them to hire me.

Hola amigos! Today I’m interviewing Catein from Catein Edits. This may be one of the shortest interviews I’ve done so far, but here it is.

When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

Probably when I was 6 or 7. I remember hearing a episode with Bernard and Eugene on the radio.

What made you want to have a website?

Mostly just a place to put my edits. I was putting them on discord and soon found out my edits were above discord’s file size limits.

The Whisperer from album 50. And Mr Skint.

What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

More of the Perkin and Calhoun Family and imagination station episodes.

ODYSSEY OWL (Interview with ASmouseInTheHouse)

Hey guy’s, I’m Mel and today I’m interviewing ASmouseInTheHouse from Odyssey Obssesors. We’ll get right into it before you can read any other blog posts!

When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

I first heard AIO when I was little, maybe 4 or 5, when staying with my cousins. They were into AIO for several years and often played episodes when my brother and I were at their house. I didn’t seriously get into it until I was older, about late 2014. I’ve been listening ever since.

Wow, you started a couple years before me.

What made you want to have a blog?

I was mostly inspired by reading the blogs of other AIO Fans. I first discovered the AIO web universe around 2018 and enjoyed reading and listening to the thoughts of other fans, particularly on Welcome to Odyssey and the Soda Shop. So, my brother and I thought it would be fun to start our own, especially after more AIO blogs became inactive.

Have you ever had a crush on a character or actor from AIO?

Actor, no. As for character, I’m not sure. I would call it an obsession rather than a crush, but for a while when I first started listening I was very invested in Buck’s story/character.

That’s a great obsession though.

What’s your favorite episode(s)?

I always find it hard to answer this question! Here are several: “Sunday Morning Scramble,” “B-TV: Behind the Scenes,” “The Highest Stakes,” “Mistaken for Good,” “Unrelatable”…

If you could change something from AIO what would you change? And what do you want for the future of Odyssey?

Well, I’d be up for a reset on the Rydell saga – enough said. As for the future of Odyssey, I would like to see episodes that address the strange things going on right now between Jay and Zoe, as well as Buck and Jules. I’ve been particularly annoyed with the Jay-chasing-Zoe arc lately…

Honestly, I do not like how Jay has acted lately with Zoe. It find it annoying the way he has acted. It’s slightly funny, but mostly annoying. To me at least.

I definitely agree.

What villain would you like to see come back?

Hmm, the main one that I’ve thought of the most is the Chairman. I would be game for him to return and exact revenge on Odyssey, however cliché that may be. The Chairman’s return was one of my original theories of how the Rydell saga would end.
Another one is Vance King, though I’m not sure if he would be classified as a villain. With Vance in jail and Dion turned good, the only bully around right now is Valerie. I don’t think Jay should serve as replacement for Vance, so having Vance get out of jail or else introducing a new bully character would fill that spot.

What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

As my username suggests, I’m a big fan of Jay. I would really like to see episodes that explore more of his background and family, rather than how the writers put it in a Q and A Podcast: “He’s really good in small doses.” The Odyssey team has developed Jay in some singular episodes, but they have left it at that and now Jay is back to his one-time appearances for comic relief. That’s not to say he isn’t good at that, but I would like to see other sides of Jay.

When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

The first episode I ever listened to was Gloobers in about 2013. When I was 10 I started listening more actively. So about 2016.

What made you want to have a blog?

Well, I guess seeing other blogs, and the hope that one day I would be able to make one with others. I’m seeing that fulfilled working with John these last months.

Have you ever had a crush on a aio character or actor?

Uh-uh. And I don’t think I plan to.

You’re the only one I’ve interviewed so far that never had a crush.

What’s your favorite episode(s)?

My favorite episodes are The Time Has Come, Exit and Silent Night

If you could change something from AIO what would you change? And what do you want for the future of Odyssey?

Six-episode albums, all day. Please, it’s not helping anyone. For the future of Odyssey, I want a particular pink-haired character to get the boot, if you know what I mean.

What villain would you like to see come back?

Blackgaard or Monica. Both would be interesting.

Here’s the last question, What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

Hmm. I guess I’d like to see another central saga, not just an arc like we saw with the Rydells. Maybe a new villian would be nice. Novacom was really good and the recent Olivia arc was as well. I think more things like that would bring the spark back in Odyssey.

Ooo yes. I personally would like to see the chairman make some action and have Jillian join him 😆

ODYSSEY OWL (interview with the Perilous Pen)

Greetings and Salutations to my new blog post series, the ODYSSEY OWL.

Today I will be interviewing my fellow AIO fan, The Perilous Pen ! And without further ado, here is my interview with The Perilous Pen.

When was the first time you started listening to AIO?

Okie. I’ve been listening to AIO since I was born. My dad listened to it a bit on the radio in college and got it for my oldest brother. We’ve never stopped.

What made you want to have a blog?

I first saw the idea of an AIO blog from the blog/podcast Welcome to Odyssey . I thought the idea was super cool and I started looking into it more. I loved these ideas, and since I already did alot of the ‘post’ ideas at home for my best friend, I figured ‘what if I just make a blog, and post them there?’

Cool! Have you ever had a crush on a character or actor from AIO?

100% There have been a few lol but I think the first one was Jared.

I think most of us have.

Lol, yea.

What’s your favorite episode(s)?

Umm.. I’m not sure I have a favorite episode, but the Novacom episodes and any episode with the Washingtons are high on my list.

If you could change something from AIO what would you change? And what do you want for the future of Odyssey

I would say I would change Mr. Whittaker. Whit has always set the tone of the town and has been the ‘God/Aslan’ figure of Odyssey. But his character/the way he’s been writing has changed so much, and it’s more of an ‘I’m right, and can do no wrong’ instead of ‘I’m going to be a servant-leader’. I’m not exactly sure what I want for the future of Odyssey, but will say that I think the writers should take note from the Novacom/Hal Smith/Paul Herlinger era of Odyssey.

Yes, I totally agree. I also would say it has do with a lot of the directing.

What villian would you like to see come back?

While Richard Maxwell is no longer considered a villian, definately Richard Maxwell. (A common oppinion I know.) He was one of the best, slimiest characters, and I definately grew to absolutely hate then love him. But villian wise, 100% the ‘chairman’ from Novacom. They can do so much with his character still.

Here’s the last question, What do you want to see more from Odyssey?

I’d like to see more Imagination Station adventures/Bible stories. Also it would be INCREDIBLE if they brought back O.T. Action News. I think it would be a cool bonding experieve for the kids in Odyssey to do a project like that together (not to mention Jay would receieve his every so desired spotlight.) I’d also like to see more of the original Whit’s End. “Where Kids (of all ages) can be kids.” Becasue it’s been changed so much recently. It seems like there is ’a dark cloud over Odyssey’ (to quote Jack Allen) And their expecting kids to grow up sooner than they should. I’d also love to see more family episodes, with families doing things together, and the kids doing normal things, like homework, and hanging out, and bored games, and just normal kid stuff. (Sorry that was a long answer lol)

It was long, but I do see your point. I hope they make more Imagination Station adventures, they are some of my favorites.
