I’m currently working on a new and original series of blog posts named “The Odyssey Owl”. This will consist of interviews with other Odyssey bloggers, podcasters, and fans.
Hopefully I will be posting them soon and hopefully you will like them.
On other new’s, Album 72: The Long Road Home will be realeasing Judge Me Tender on Dec 30 according to the aiowiki, followed by the January club episode A Dickensain Dilemma then January 6th As Buck Would Have It, part 1
I did this collage after Will Ryan died, but I got busy and couldn’t post it right away. But here it is! I’ll be doing more soon. Also, stay tuned for some Christmas posts!
The Lost One, parts 1 and 2 will be released in the Club on October 26 and 27. It is said that it will be released in the bonus section for Album 71 until Album 72 comes out.
This is the continuation of part 1. If you have not read it, here is the link so you can read it properly: https://wp.me/pd3QiW-w
#5. How are you like Jules?
PP: I relate to Jules in many ways. We both have a passion for music, we both deal with a lot of um… “teenage angst” as Connie would put it. And we both have bossy older sisters. (Jk.) (sort of.) 😂
Mel: I’m like Jules in a lot of ways. Except that I don’t have an older sister, I have a younger sister, and my parents aren’t divorced. I absolutely love music and I sing all the time.
#6. If Jules would be real, would you be her friend?
PP: Probably. While I’m similar to her and think I’d be friends with her for at least a while, I believe that she is kind of toxic and manipulative as a friend. I think we’d hit it off well, then grow apart due to conflicts in morals. I believe that we’d make it up though, and be better friends at the end. Tbh, we’d probably just vibe listening to music hours on end.
Mel: You practically said everything I was going to say.Except I would probably singing covers with her.
Thank you so much Perilous Pen for doing this with me. It was super fun and I hope we can do more posts together!
I sent these questions to the Perilous Pen about Jules, and we both answered them.
#1: When you first heard Jules in Life Expectancy, what did you think about her? (If you can’t remember that’s ok)
PP: When I first heard Jules I guess I was excited. I could tell from the first moment that she was a fellow musician and I loved her. I also felt.. cringy? (is that an emotion?) the only way I can think of describing it is “oof” “ouch” and “ooooffff” Let’s just say those episodes were an emotional roller coaster.
Mel: I get you when you felt cringy. I felt that too. I hoped that she would come back, and she did! I also liked that she was from California, like me.
#2. Do you like the way the writers are taking Jules’ character?
PP: Hmm… I’m not really sure. I’m all for conspiracy theories (About AIO or otherwise) but Jules has got me confused. I have NO CLUE where the writers are taking her. I absolutely love how they have portrayed her music career and her trip to and back from LA. I do wish we could hear more about her spiritual life, though. (Even if it’s a lack-there-of).
Mel: I also like conspiracy theories. (My dad says I need to stop with them because I sound like Jared DeWhite. But it’s not like bad conspiracy theories.) I do wish that the writers would have Buck become a Christian before her, then have him influence her to become a Christian.
#3. Do you like how the writers have portrayed Jules in these last few episodes?
PP: Ehh… idk…. So, I really love her character, but in the past few episodes she’s seemed really rude/pushy. Even to her friends (especially Buck). This started to get better at the end of California Dreams, but then it took another downwards slope. So, in conclusion, I do not believe she is to the point of no return, but I do wish that they would take her in a different directions.
Mel: Honestly, I don’t like the way that the writers have portrayed her in the last few episodes. Maybe this is a passing stage. I wonder if her pushyness is going to bring her somewhere in the next few episodes. Either though she is being pushy in those episodes I see it as if it is also partly her friends fault (Buck) since he doesn’t even try to stop her or set her straight. Either though I love Jules character, it seems like she’s pushing it a bit to much.
#4. What do you think about Buck and Jules relationship?
PP: Well… I believe that they have a great friendship, but like I’ve said before, it’s getting to the point where instead of a co-dependent relationship Jules is just being controlling and Buck is going along with it (/being a pushover.) But I have always loved their relationship and hope that Jules can realize that a friendship is two sided. But that’s talking about their relationship. Dating/romantic relationship is a different question. This is a two sided coin. On one hand it think it’s cute/sweet and could be very wholesome. BUT on the other side I don’t particularly support high school dating (depending on the relationship/the reason for dating). So depending on the way that the writers go about it, it could be either great or annoying and a bad example for kids and middle schoolers (even high schoolers) thinking about dating.
Mel: I totally agree with everything you said. I like the way they are best friends. Either though I do like them together, I don’t think it would be very good to bring dating into Odyssey. Especially since right now Jules has been rather manipulative. I know for sure that (spoiler alert!)There is a 3 part episode with Jules and Buck as the main characters. Who knows what the writers will do with their characters.
Hey guys! It’s Mel, I’m sorry I haven’t been active on the blog lately. Well, that isn’t what I wanted to talk about. Today I’m going to be typing my reaction to Album 72 “The Long Way Home” Cover Art.
I first saw the cover art on Odyssey Obssesors and then on AIOAudioNews. When I saw it I thought, What in the world is going on? There is smoke coming out of a building!
At first it looks like they are all holding hands and running out of a gas station. (Maybe Pete’s Gas and Chow?)
Then I zoomed in left to right and noticed Eugene’s reflection on the window. On the bottom left corner there is a red rectangular box thing and a small box that reminded me of a waffle maker. (Don’t ask why.)
Now I started going right and noticed Eugene was not holding Jules’ hand. But Buck and Jules where holding hands. I had one word to say when I saw this, and that word was: Whyyyyyyy!?
As much as I like Buck and Jules, and how I think they are cute together, I do not want them to date yet. I feel like they are not mature enough to date.
Also, I’ve never seen a picture of Jules that good.
Now back to the cover art.
I saw a black line in the back of them that I thought was a hosecoming from the gas pump. I’m not sure, but that’s what it looks like to me. Maybe that is what caused the fire or maybe it’s a water hose.
Well that’s the post for today. Thanks for reading!
