Was Connie held back in HighSchool?

I was thinking about Connie’s life when suddenly I thought, wait, was Connie held back in High School?

The Blackgaard Cronicles book #1, says that Connie was 16. And in Waylaid in the Windy City (Album 10) Richard Maxwell has been in Camble Community Detention center for 2 years.
That would make Connie 18 right? I would think so. But then why didn’t Connie graduate untill Album 35?  Did time suddenly slow down after album 10? Did she graduate at age 19? Or was she held back?
After thinking about all this I came to the conclusion that, Odyssey is Odyssey after all. Anything can happen, especially when it was least expected.
